Miami Beach Gay Registry Opens Today

(Miami Beach, Florida) Dozens of same-sex couples are expected to register as domestic partners today in Miami Beach as the gay positive resort city opens its new domestic partner registry.
The registry was approved by a unanimous vote July 28 by the Miami Beach Commission.
It will allow any gay couple, no matter where they are from, to sign the register. The ordinance guarantees partner rights in hospital care and visitation rights at all healthcare facilities in the city, and provides partner rights in making funeral and burial decisions.
